|Emily AC: Multi-Talented Comedian||
I always have, like, nine or so books that I've started that sit on the bookshelf. When I feel like reading-reading... no computer screen or smartphone... I find a place under a tree with a book that fits my mood.
It was suggested to me to read Daniel Quinn's "Ishmael." Though I love this book... it infuriates me because I'm NOT LEARNING ANYTHING!!! ONCE AGAIN... I'VE STUMBLED UPON AN AMAZINGLY INTELLIGENT AUTHOR WITH EXCEPTIONAL PROSE THAT TELLS IT LIKE IT IS!!!
...But when this shit comes out of MY mouth... I get family members scared of me, people I meet are shocked into silence... and lunatic morons call me crazy left and right!
Now, listen. It's fine if you want to call me crazy for saying I talk to dogs and cats (and, as of late; a threatening jumping spider that stalked me 'til its unwholesome death)...
...But I'm NOT crazy for telling you the human race is on the brink of extinction!!!
Unfortunately, Mr. Quinn thought that we would just see a financial crash... I doubt he could see global starvation thanx to global drought!
I don't think even he knew that the agricultural impact would be anything more than making more food...
He probably didn't realize that by the human race building all the infrastructures and "cultivating" the land... the human race altered the water cycle all over the planet!!!
Right now... the water cycle is not the thing it once was... currents are faster and stronger. Here's why:
global warming... whatever caused it... created more heat. Without the landscape the earth was used to--the heat reflects off of the buildings and roadways...
thus... the energy from the heat moves faster... because it raises faster. Normally... some of the energy gets trapped in a pressure loop and that creates a storm of sorts to relieve the pressure buildup...
So, now, since everything has been ramped up... so, too, have been the storm systems. Bigger and more treacherous than humans have ever seen... way more often.
I'm quoting out of Daniel Quinn's "Ishmael" to show what I mean when I say I've learned nothing from this book because the material is so fucking obvious to me... but before I do--I'll start with a convo I had with a lady named Nina... who works for Dana's housekeeping :)
I took the job 'cuz that's what there was! OK! I clean houses, now... that'll shock the mom (though I moved... so no more of that, probably)...
She was so wise and smart... yes, those are different! Bill Gates is smart but not wise. Yes... I typed that and meant it. All assholes are never wise. If they were; they wouldn't be assholes.
I told her about my world peace plan wwwaaayyy before I had it on the web... and I was getting people hooked on my performances... she was on the side of modern civilization... in that; it is better than anything humans could ever ask for.
I basically said, "No. Nobody seems happy living this way. Everyone's nuts and I can see this fact, everyday. Everyone convinces themselves that work is better than life or work is life and then they suffer over it so they can watch sex and the city! and they say that crazy life with sex and the city is better than, say, the bushman... who are always reporting happiness and they don't much more than their loin cloths and their mud huts."
She understood the argument.. but downplayed that lifestyle... No hospitals, no roads, no blah, blah, blah...
Then I said, "Think about it like this... the bushman says, 'I'll eat when I'm hungry and that's the only reason I need to eat.' So--the bushman keep a small community, without birth control methods, on this premise and they are happy to do so and have lived like that, forever. Why change when your life brings you happiness?
But what do we say? We say, 'Sure... I can kill one for now... but why not kill two or three maybe for later???' and then we don't share! We report being one of the least happy nations in the world! And we have everything."
So that was my argument... Here's how Daniel Quinn wrote it:
"The people of your culture cling with fanatical tenacity to the specialness of man. They want desperately to perceive a vast gulf between man and the rest of creation. This mythology of human superiority justifies their doing whatever they please with the world, just the way Hitler's mythology of Aryan superiority justified his doing whatever pleased with Europe. But in the end this mythology is not deeply satisfying. The Takers (human civilizations with conquering governments) are a profoundly lonely people. The world for them is enemy territory, and they live in it like an army of occupation, alienated and isolated by their extroardinary specialness."
I practically came when I read that! It goes on... but my thumbs are tired... that was just such a grand scale of "yes, dude... that's some rightness... motherfuckers are... not... fucking... special!!!
They are god damn delusional. Your misery does not make you good. It makes you sad and irritating!!!
ESPECIALLY if you sit there and do the same fucking thing you always do whilst you go on about your specialness... and how you complain about how people don't think you're special!
Well... I'm a fucking FLOWER, ASSHOLES!!! Even I don't consider myself special or better (as people usually describe themselves)... NO! Unique... of course... better... NEVER!!!
Why don't you think you're BETTER than anyone else???
...Because I can't help but notice that everyone has their own awesome traits... plus I haven't met everyone in the world.
As of right now... I feel like I'm better than Dick Cheney because he tried to kill his friend by shooting him in the face... and his friend publicly apologized to him.
Like... I'm a wwwwaaaayyyy better friend than Dick Cheney!!! Fo REELZ!!!
